Our Challenges (Pre-Optimization):
 
TreasureKnit, an online retailer of customized photo blankets and accessories, came to us after getting less than desirable results from two other SEO firms. Because their site had been optimized improperly, and re-directs were implemented wrong, they still needed to build rankings for their top keywords and phrases and establish proper backlinks to their site. The site also needed a design and usability overhaul, as well as improvements of minor technical issues. In summary, we faced the following challenges:
  • Site not indexed by the search engines/no rankings for top keywords
  • Site had been optimized using outdated and ineffective SEO techniques
  • Redirects were improperly used, causing indexing issues
  • High Pay-Per-Click costs with low results
  • Not enough backlinks to their site
  • Lack of continuity in terms of design and navigation

 

Our Strategy:
Overall, TreasureKnit most critically needed to focus on keyword rankings and backlinks to help increase traffic to their site, and thereby increase their conversion rate. We implemented the following SEO, Programming, and Usability strategies:

  • Work with developer and host to correct redirects
  • Keyword research
  • Optimization of copy, tags, graphics, and code
  • Aggressive link building
  • Development of additional conversion points to increase sales
  • Addition of more keyword-rich content to product pages
  • Improved checkout process

 

Our Results (Post-Optimization):
Since March 2006, TreasureKnit has experienced remarkable increases in three key areas: keyword rankings, link popularity, and most importantly, conversions.

Keyword Rankings: Treasure Knit now has #1 rankings for 14 competitive keyphases.

Link Building/Link Popularity: By targeting niche directories and Websites with complementary or related products, TreasureKnit was able to dramatically increase their Web presence and search engine traffic in just a few short months.

Conversions: Most significantly, TreasureKnit has experienced a 550% increase in sales from search engine traffic since their site was properly optimized.
